Auto Shutdown Genius 2.3.1 is the latest released version of this shareware program for Windows platforms. There is a trial demo available for direct downloading from the developer’s website. Auto Shutdown Genius provides an easy to use tool for turning off our computer, automatically, at a given time. From the Task option, we can select when the task will take place between daily, weekly, monthly, CPU usage, while idle, and once. Next, we select the running time, or schedule a task. We can choose the start date, and one of the following actions: power off, restart, log out, hibernate, standby, turn monitor off, lock workstation, or open screensaver. From the Tools option we can configure standard options, such as starting on system launch, popping up the notification dialog box before execution, playing a sound, running a program, and executing action by force after logging on to Windows. It is possible to set up expansion options, such as clearing the Recycle Bin, Internet Explorer Cache, History, Cookies, and so on. We are allowed to create a new task, edit, or delete any selected task. It runs under Windows NT, 2000, XP, 2003 Server, and Vista operating systems. |
